FAQ

Why Lambda Phi Epsilon?

Lambda Phi Epsilon is an organization that will challenge every aspect of your college life. Not only will you learn how to become a leader, you will be empowered to make a positive impact in your community and in your life after college. You will create bonds that will last a lifetime and meet people who will leave a lasting impression. Lambda life extends far beyond the reach of school. With chapters across the country and Canada, you will have a chance to network with brothers from all over, bringing with it many opportunities, both during your time as an active and when you become an alumnus. Granted, the road to becoming a Lambda is not easy, but the rewards are well worth it.

By becoming a brother you will end up with some of the best friends you will ever make and be able to laugh over some of the most memorable stories. Lambdas have fun…and lots of it. We are known for our social gatherings, but being a Lambda also carries with it a strong sense of pride and a reputation for being a well-rounded individual. It takes a certain type of man to become a Lambda, someone who wants to become a leader among men.

What is Rush?

Rush is a period at the beginning of the semester when anyone interested in Lambda Phi Epsilon or Greek life in general can come to our events to meet brothers and learn more about the fraternity. Contrary to popular belief, coming out to rush does not commit you to anything at all. You do NOT have to attend all events to be able to join the fraternity. The only thing we expect from our rushees is that they have a good time at our events. Along the way, we hope they will also meet the brothers and learn more about the values of the fraternity.

Am I Required to Pledge if I Rush?

No. Rush is simply an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and meet the brothers. So have fun, enjoy yourself, and allow us to show you what our brotherhood is about.

Do I Have to be Asian to Join?

While we are an Asian-American Interest Fraternity, we have brothers all over the country that are not of Asian descent. You do not have to be Asian to come to rush events and you do not have to be Asian to join Lambda Phi Epsilon. Everyone is invited.

Should I Attend All Rush Events?

If you are serious about joining Lambda Phi Epsilon, you are definitely encouraged to attend all rush events from beginning to end. The events are set for you to learn about the chapter that you will potentially belong to. The brothers will be there to answer any questions that you may have about the fraternity or the chapter. It is an opportunity for both you and the brothers to get to know each other better. Feel free to ask questions and just be yourself.

What Type of Person Are You Looking For?

We stand by our motto, “To Be Leaders Among Men”, and this remains true for each and every brother in our house. In addition to finding leaders among the crowd who will utlimately become the faces of our fraternity, we seek diversity from the individual personalities that we hope will make up the house.
